Rainbow Riches games in 2026: which version is which

One leprechaun, more than twenty games. The names sound alike; the maths behind them does not.

The Rainbow Riches games are more than twenty slots that started with Barcrest's original and are now released by Light & Wonder. They differ in paylines, bonus features, top prize and the RTP settings a casino can pick. The main ones: the original, Pick N Mix, two Dream Pots jackpot games and newer spin-offs.

The original and its 2025 remake

The original Rainbow Riches is a five-reel slot with 20 paylines and three bonus features: Road to Riches, the Wishing Well and Pots of Gold. Each of them pays up to 500 times the total stake, according to the game rules published by Rainbow Riches Casino.

In July 2025 Light & Wonder released a rebuilt version, listed on its site as Rainbow Riches (GDM). It keeps the same three features and 20 lines, raises the top prize to 520x and comes in five RTP versions, from 87% to 96%. That last detail matters: the casino, not the player, decides which one you get. The RTP comparison by casino shows what two of our six casinos print.

Pick N Mix: you choose the bonuses

Pick N Mix is the version Rainbow Riches Casino attaches its welcome spins to. Before the reels spin you choose up to three of five bonuses:

Light & Wonder's 2025 rebuild of the game lists 20 lines, a 10p minimum stake, a top prize of 1,300x and five RTP versions from 88% to 96%. The choice of bonuses changes how often features land and how big they are, so two players at the same casino can be playing quite different games.

Dream Pots: the jackpot versions

Dream Pots is Light & Wonder's linked jackpot system, launched on Rainbow Riches in the UK in early 2025. A Dream Pots game adds a Rainbow Road feature that can lead to a jackpot wheel with six jackpots on top of the usual bonuses.

Two titles carry it. Pick N Mix Dream Pots keeps the 20-line layout and lists a top prize of 11,365x. Race Day Dream Pots is a different design altogether: six reels, 4,096 cascading ways, horse races down a track and a top prize of 47,000x. Both come in 92% and 94% versions only, not the wider 87–96% range of the rebuilt classics.

Which casinos carry which title

A tick means the casino has its own page for the game on 10 October 2026. PlayOJO is left out because it publishes a total of fifteen titles but not the full list. The full list of casinos has their licences and deposits.

What else people ask

Who makes Rainbow Riches?

Rainbow Riches was created by Barcrest, the British maker of pub fruit machines, and Barcrest Group Limited still holds the copyright: the footer of Rainbow Riches Casino reads "RAINBOW RICHES and © 2006-2026 Barcrest Group Limited". Barcrest is now part of Light & Wonder, formerly Scientific Games, which releases all the new titles in the series and lists them on its own game catalogue with release dates and RTP versions.

Which Rainbow Riches game has the biggest top prize?

Race Day Dream Pots, at 47,000 times the stake according to Light & Wonder's game sheet. It plays very differently from the original: six reels, 4,096 cascading ways and a horse race feature, plus the Dream Pots jackpot wheel. Next come Even More Pots of Gold at 12,600x and Pick N Mix Dream Pots at 11,365x. A bigger top prize usually means a lower chance of reaching it, so it says nothing about how often the game pays.

What is a good alternative to Rainbow Riches?

If you like the classic features, the closest alternative is another game from the same series rather than a different slot. Pick N Mix lets you choose which of the five bonuses are active, Deluxe and Rainbow Frenzy run on ten lines with a 10p minimum, and Road to Even More Riches is the 2025 continuation with a Fairy Wilds respin and a random bonus wheel. All of them are made by Light & Wonder and sold to casinos in several RTP versions.

Are there any tricks to win at Rainbow Riches?

No. Every licensed online slot in Great Britain runs on a random number generator, and the result of each spin is independent of the last one. Changing your stake or the time of day does not change the long-run return, which is set by the RTP version the casino runs. The only choices that matter are which casino and version you play, and how much you are prepared to lose.

Can you still play the original Rainbow Riches?

Yes. All five casinos whose game lists we checked carry the original, and PlayOJO has its own page for it too. Some casinos may be running the 2025 rebuild under the same name; the rebuild keeps the 20 lines and the three classic bonus features, so it looks almost the same. The in-game help screen shows the RTP of the version you are playing, which is the quickest way to tell which build a casino has.

What does Pick N Mix mean in Rainbow Riches?

It means you pick which bonus features are switched on before you spin. Light & Wonder's game sheet lets the player choose up to three of five bonuses: Road to Riches, Pots of Gold, Free Spins, Magic Toadstool and Cash Crop. Different combinations change how often features appear and how much they pay. Rainbow Riches Casino gives its 30 welcome spins on this game, at a 1p coin size on 10 lines.
